Why Adopt a Village?  How did it come into being?

While on my second visit to India, I saw good native Pastors being limited by financial need with no resources to draw upon.  On the other hand, there were missionaries mostly from the U.S. receiving generous funds and doing little real ministry work with it. Therefore, the desire came to

somehow get finances from the U.S to help already motivated and working Pastors and leaders to do more --- speeding the Gospel to places that otherwise will be unreached.

Upon returning to the U.S., I told my Sunday School class about an unreached Hindu Village being reached with a great response to the Gospel.  However, because the village was too far from the Pastor's city to return to, the class Teacher suggested the class "adopt" that Village. They did it and made the continual coming to that Village financially possible.  The result has been a Church being birthed there.

The Village adoption focussed my desire to help reach unreached villages by founding a non-profit tax exempt organization named "Adopt a Village, Inc."   Presently more Pastors and their workers have been contacted and evaluated as authentic recipients of financial help.  They are presently waiting patiently and prayerfully to increase their outreach when they receive the funds to do so.

The Harvest is ready,, the laborers are ready, ------ are you and/or your Church also ready to send them through adoption?  We at Adopt a Village surely hope so and are praying for a bountiful harvest of souls through the increased Village outreach made possible by Village adoptions.
